North side of town on 165
Louisiana Highway 165 reduces the speed on the road from 65 to 50 as you enter every town. The first thing you will see is a sign with a 50 and an arrow, indicating that the speed limit is being reduced up ahead. I was clocked going 63 in a 50 as I approached the North side of Fenton, LA. I believe I was zapped going 63 at the sign indicating the speed would be 50, not at the 50mph zone itself. I pulled down the first street because there was not a shoulder, and while the ticket was being written the guy who owned or rented the house I was in front of said the to police officer “you got another one.” This was my first speeding ticket in 13 years, and only my second in my driving career and I am 48. I was driving a rental with NC plates, and I have a MD license, I didn’t have a chance. The police officer only took my license to write the ticket. He didn’t look at the registration, nor ask for proof of insurance. He asked me what year the vehicle was so he could write it on my ticket. I took the Interstate highways all the way home, I suggest everybody else do the same.
