North from San Francisco, over the golden gate bridge, through the tunnel, and then you come over and down a steep hill into a suddenly reduced speed limit and he’s at the bottom, waiting, on the right. You probably can’t even see him without craning your neck until he’s already pulled out and fired up his lights. All the locals know about the trap, but even they find it very difficult to slow fast enough safely on that slope to meet the ridiculous reduction in speed limit.

Comments:
Although it is accurate that you could find a CHP at the bottom of the hill, the speed limit is consistent after leaving the Golden Gate Bridge's 45MPH. After clearing the GG bridge, the speed limit is 55MPH for the next 10 miles (until after San Rafael Civic Center) when it changes to 65MPH. The traffic generally averages at least +10MPH over the limit until it changes to 65MPH where the traffic then averages 75MPH+...
