On Oakland Mills Road between Dobbin and Old Montgomery, look out for hidden cruisers around just about any corner. Sunday mornings, weekday mornings, and late at night, especially.

This is not a speed trap. It is a preventitive measure. Officers do are not stopping people who are driving reasonably. They are there to keep people from driving 60 MPH or better in a resadential area having a speed limit of 35 MPH. Yes, there are numerous places that they set. But they do not hide themselves. They are clearly there to maintain the safety of the neighborhood.
This is most def a speed trap when they pull you over doing 45 at 1:30 AM. Especially when they sit at the bottom of the hill right before Homespun. Of course you are going to excelerate slightly. If you live in Columbia, you know where they camp.
They sit in the common use drive (for the community gardens) on the north side of Oakland Mills and the road on the south side (for the housing development).
The road is not residential as fewer houses are directly attached to the section from Snowden River Parkway to the T intersection where the road bears west to Thunderhill, then there are on any portion of the 45mph, single opposing Rt. 216 between Rt. 29 and Rt. 108 (the last section closest to 108 drops from 45 to 35mph, but there are no markers for the distinction).
