on San Vicente, just east of Fairfax

There are usually 3-4 motorcycle police officers waiting at the corner each morning from about 6-9am and intermittently throughout the day.

Yes, this is a huge speed trap...the police are on motorcycles and sit close to Pioneer Chicken. They simple point their radar gun and motion with hand signals for you to pull over. As a driver you are coasting along San Vicente heading northwest around 11 - 3 pm and because of the luxuriously wide open three lanes with little to no traffic, and the fact that the hill slopes down as you approach Olympic/Fairfax...you start out at 35 mph but you speed easily increases to 45 mph due to the lack of traffic, not intending to speed, you find yourself near Pioneer Chicken and a cop is motioning for you to pull over. EVERYDAY I see someone pulled over. I got a ticket this way last year and it cost me over $350. I really can't believe what a trap it is. Now the police are sitting closer to Olympia hospital and the JCC where they are even more hidden. WATCH OUT! They are doing a good job of reducing our city deficit. I am all for controlling speeders and making our roads safer, but this is the most obvious case of trapping our drivers in Los Angeles.

All I can say is, it must be the time of day you're driving along there, or something, because I have passed by there every work day for 5+ years (first, going east on Olympic, then, going west on Olympic) and I have never been cited.
