Paramount Boulevard near South Street

Long Beach, CaliforniaMay 05, 20051 Comments

The west side of the street is refineries; east is residential. 2 northbound, 2 southbound lanes between South Street and Artesia Blvd. Careful! Your instinct is to drive 40-45 here, but DON’T! You will get nailed. Speed limit was 30, but is now 35. Don’t go a mile over. Motocycle cops park on the east side (on residential side streets), but also inbetween big-rigs parked along the west side. People love to speed here, and will climb up your tailpipe to "move you along" — it happened to me and I caved. Got a ticket there because the jerk was riding my tail. Cop never saw the guy behind me. Oh well.

Comments:
The speed limit is actually 40 now, but for some asinine reason, people still routinely go 45-50. Last week, LBPD nailed the guy in front of me, and the guy who was about to turn me into a hood ornament.
