Hartwell Police set at the entrance of the Chandler Center on Reed Creek Highway, Georgia State Highway 51 operating radar to catch vehicles coming into the city. The speed limit is 45 and the highway is straight for 2 miles. Hartwell Police have also been spotted hiding in low areas of the shoulder on the highway operating radar. If you get pulled over by the Assistant Chief, don’t expect a warning of any kind. Just a chewing out and a big $$$$ fine to pay.
