Riverside Drive

Three Holly Hill Police Cars sitting behind the bushes just north of 4th Street on Riverside Drive they are stopping cars at a pace that I have not seen in 30 years of living in Florida…Witnessed 100 cars being pulled over in a 2 hour period. What they are doing can no way be constitutional! Police Driving on Sidewalks stopping cars and blocking side roads, disrupting traffic flow and Holly HIll Police themselves driving reckless at time to persue “speeders”.

Comments:
Speed limit has been 25 mph per hour since the Model T. It is a designated historic scenic Halifax River route that is bordered by residences on the west side of the road. It is a popular spot to train new officers on how to use radar since the cars are moving slower. The Volusia County Sheriff's Department, the Florida Highway Patrol and the City police frequently use this stretch of road. Slow down, breathe and enjoy the river view before or after work. It has been calculated that if you do 35 mph instead of 25 mph you will save a whole 12 seconds of time from end to end of the city. Relax and enjoy it! And by the way, don't hit the trees that are close to the non-passing zoned road.
