Ronald Reagan Parkway near Interstate 70

Plainfield, IndianaMar 11, 20081 Comments

Plainfield Police are operating a revenue collection trap along Ronald Reagan Parkway between Stafford Road and Interstate 70. The highway is 4-6 lanes divided by a 10 foot concrete median, along with large breakdown lanes on either side, yet the posted speed limit is 40-45 mph, completely unreasonable for an area which contains no residential areas and only a smattering of brand new warehouse commercial traffic. I have been the victim of this trap twice in the last two weeks, after ten years of a clean record, and this speed trap is likely to cost me hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

I have lived in the Plainfield area my entire life, and by far the vast majority of traffic stops I see in Plainfield take place on this road (to the tune of 4-6 per week), despite the fact that motorists routinely exceed the posted limit on the main street through town, which DOES have heavy residential and business traffic, by 10 mph or more.

Comments:
Not keeping up with traffic flow, Being passed regularly. Out of state plates (Ky), pulling a small U Haul trailer. $450.00 ticket from the smiling cop. I took pictures with my video cam. Will post on U Tube. I think I'll call it Highway Robbery. Beware Indiana. Spend your money elsewhere.
