The Social Circle Police are everywhere waiting to pick up a speeder. They even have an empty car with darkened windows that they move around town to park in different locations. Be careful when driving through town. They’ll get you if you aren’t following the speed laws.

The PD is a small agency. It is physically impossible for them to be everywhere. Hightower Trail is one of the main streets in the town and passes by or near the elementary school, the library, a museum, and the high school/middle school complex. The PD receives numerous complaints from residents about their concerns of speeding vehicles traveling on Hightower Trail and the safety of children and other pedestrians. If you feel there is speed trap in this or any other Georgia city, file a complaint with the Georgia State Patrol so that an audit/investigation can be conducted. An even better action to take would be to slow down in the city limits. The city is not the interstate. Before you comment, the speed limits inside a jurisdiction are set by the Georgia Department of Transportation - not the involved city or county governments or by the local public safety agencies.
