Route 9 entering from the south

They hide somewhere. Speed limit goes from 50 to 25 with nothing in between. Do not waste your time contesting your ticket in the kangaroo court they hold on the second floor of the old fire company. [I’ve tried]. This is your typical poor W.V. town (cars on cinder blocks in front yard, couch on porch, shoeless women, etc.) and their source of income is YOUR speeding ticket. AVOID THIS TOWN AT ALL COSTS!

Friendly officer on a Sunday dropped the 50/25 to 34/25, (still $157) while heading south on Rt 9. I never even saw a posted limit let alone advance notice. That's the real rub as I wouldn't want to be going fast in town. So why would these yokels want the revenue while essentially endangering their residents?

I recently had the same experience (clocked at the entrance of a 25 coming in from a 50 mph zone with no intermediate drops in speed). I feel sorry for the business owners of Paw Paw. My family has driven through a number of times and stopped off for gas and food. Never again. We drive safe and offer honest income to the business owners, while the "justice" system extorts money out of honest people. I will never drive through Paw Paw again. The officer claimed he was protecting the towns children who might be playing on the bridge. What he is really doing is taking business away from hard working people in Paw Paw. I wonder how many meals the officers there have been provided. They should be ashamed of themselves.
