The Davis motorcycle police units will park their motorcycles on the adjacent bike path or on the median between the road and the bike path to radar unsuspecting vehicles on Russell Blvd (this is called 5th Street near downtown and further east of downtown). They often hide between off-road obstacles to obscure their presence. These obstacles include olive trees closer to downtown, cement traffic barriers at the Hwy 113 over-crossing, or walnut trees West of the Hwy 113 over-crossing.
