SH36 at FM1093 The City-Data lists the City of Wallis of having 3 full time police officers with an average income of around 34,000 annually. The Houston Chronicle listed the follow cities where the most tickets are handed out. 1). Highway 71 in La Grange 2). I-45 Bridge heading into Galveston 3). 290 in Brennham 4). I-45 Porter Exit 5). WALLIS TEXAS (Hwy 36) Any people stating this isn't a speed trap is either a cop or, hasn't traveled through this dustbowl.

I have lived in Wallis, Tx all my life, and I am embarrassed by the speed trap in place here. They will target the citizens of this town also. None of the officers live here, so they have no community involvement, and the city government is ignorant to the damage it does to city and citizens of this town. People will not come back to the functions held by churches, and city organizations. Why come back when you get a ticket for going 5mph over the limit set at 35mph on a major hiway? can't get people to visit me for fear of getting stopped.
