There is a new bridge being constructed west of Killen on highway 72. Its my understanding that during non-work hours and when workers are rained out that the "doubled speeding fines" signs are to be covered and that motorists won’t be cited. At this location this is not the case. I have so far been lucky as I travel this road as little as posssibleand with a great amount of caution. I do live in this area however. I see people pulled over and ticketed at almost any time of day or night. I leave for work at 4:30 a.m. as I have a long commute. The Alabama State Troopers now have themselves a completely unmarked Dark Blue Ford Taurus that bares no resemblence to an emergency vehicle. The forward facing blue lights are in the rear view mirror. These troopers are not concerned with public safety. They are generating revenue. For many years Killen had a terrible reputation as a speed trap. I’m saddened to see that it has become one again. Forwarned is forarmed.
