South on 285, approx 6 miles past I470 toward Indian Hills
On 285, as you pass Red Rocks Amphitheater, on your right and begin the climb up Turkey Creek Canyon, the speed limit changes from 55 MPH to 45 MPH. A Morrison Sheriff’s patrol car is often parked on the shoulder as you come around a sight obstructed corner. While the speed limit returns to 55MPH as you leave this stretch of the canyon, the 45MPH section is relentlessly protolled and motorists are ticketed. Colorado State Patrol uses the same pull out. Not to worry, there is ample room to pull over on the shoulder once you are flagged down, safely turnoff your engine and receive your citation.
