State Highway 650 New Hampshire Ave. near Church

Once in a while you’ll find a single County officer on the Northbound side of New Hampshire Ave. after Randolph Road and before Good Hope — sitting either in one of many parking lots or side streets catching speeders going north.

With morning rush going Southward, this trap is usually set up during or shortly after morning rush and can be found up until evening rush. Once in a while, the trap will also be in the evening or on weekends. The posted speed is 40 (45 in places), but with three travel lanes, and center and shoulder turn lanes at one’s disposal, the posted speed seems a little overly ‘cautious’. Some Interstates are less roomy.

In any case, this isn’t the best trap since the only real "cover" for the officer is the unsuspecting, overly unobservant (I.E., far too typical area) driver. Anyone who keeps an eye out for this sort of stuff (and with half-decent protection) shouldn’t fall to this rogue’s idea of filling his/her quota.
