State Highway 70 near Mile Marker 210

They will be sitting on either both sides of the road, or in the center median looking for cars going east or westbound in or out of the city. Westbound, the officer sits just just outside Milemarker 210 (which is the official Alamogordo city limits) and clocks people. What’s a pain is that the speed limit is 45 and slowly goes to 50, then sity a mile later. What’s deceptive is that a Hwy 70 sign is about a mile past that. Cars think it looks like a speed limit sign and speed up. They sit behind a bush hidden from view and have no remorse for you speeding. This tickets if only 5-6 miles over the speed limit will be about $50-70. Eastbound, they will catch you as you are going into town when the speed limit drops rapidly from 60 to 50 to 45 within 100 yards. They will be parked on the side of the road near the self storage place and looks like a car parked there doing nothing. By the time you see them….too late.
