State Highway 99 near 7th Standard Road
The CA Highway Patrol sits on top of the overpass from 7th Standard Road/Merle Haggard Drive watching the southbound traffice on Highway 99 entering Bakersfield. The motorcycle officer is there from 10 AM until about 3 PM on weekdays and continuously writes speeding tickts.

I used to drive professionally out of one of the businesses along Golden State Ave. just south of this location and can tell you that this IS a well-known speed trap. My colleagues and I used to always joke about the CHP officer sitting at the top of the S/B onramp from 7th Standard Rd./Merle Haggard drive, as he could be seen quite clearly from our place of employment, but not by any unsuspecting southbound drivers. And he is there almost every morning, sometimes as early as 6 A.M.
