State Highway nine / US 62
State highway 9 runs through the middle of this small town of 575 souls. Due to constant police presence they manage to always have new cars, one of which is a K-9 unit. For what purpose no one can imagine. No quarter is given for even a mile or two indicated above the limit. The speed drops from 65 miles and hour on the east side of town to 35, 25 during school, and returns to 70 on the west side of town.

I drive through this town 3 days a week and I have never seen new cop cars. I met the Chief of police at a Conoco gas station and he was really nice. He is the chief and he was driving an old junky pickup with paint chipping off all over. The other cars look about the same. So my guess is if they are writing a bunch of tickets, they sure don't get no monies from it, just look at their cars. The Chief told me he ordered his police officers not to stop anyone unless they were doing 10mph over.
