US 31 S between Robbins Rd. in Grand Haven and Holland, straight and safe, a 55 posted limit on a highway that also serves semi traffic. This is the only route between Grand Haven and Holland, and the morning traffic is frequently heavy, with cars sharing two lanes with semi drivers. The Grand Haven PD and the Ottawa county SD hide their vehicles between stands of pine trees on this stretch, at all hours of the day and night. They particularly love to ticket drivers who are trying to get around slow moving semis (an extremely aggravating problem, especially during the morning commute). This stretch of highway brings in significant revenue and the officers will not hesitate to pull you over and slap you with a ticket for 1-5 over… I have seen the same officers ticketing different drivers only five or ten minutes apart on both sides of the same stretch of highway. The officers use rader and they also track… and they do tend to exaggerate, regarding your actual clocked speed.
