Between Holland and Grand Haven – Sherriffs Dept. Wants $$$
After you enter the CITY OF HOLLAND and until you reach the Michigan State Police Post in Grand Haven, you will be subject to harassment from the OTTAWA COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT who will write tickets for anything and everything (speeding, passing, broken tail light, burned-out brake light bulb, etc.).
They are also found between Fruitport MI and Grand Rapids for the same. The Michigan State Police do not operate this way! Trust only the Michigan State Police in OTTAWA COUNTY MICHIGAN!
US-31 Northbound Van Wagoner Rd. on ramp
Selective enforcement zone. Will sit back off the on ramp for northbound US-31 traffic for people putting the hammer down coming out of Grand Haven. Also usually late on prime bar nights. They will also sit right in front of barrier where us-31 goes divided highway right before the Spring lake exit watching both directions.
Lakeshore Dr.
Lakeshore Dr. between Comstock St and Brucker St. The police car sits at the entrance to the condo complex on the East side of Lakeshore Dr. Make sure you are going 35 mph as you approach that turn (the speed drops about a half mile before you get there).
Grand Avenue near Lake Michigan
The cop hides off road, under the trees, on Grand just east of the turn onto the beach road. The black and white car is almost invisible in the shade, and is there on most week days.
