State Route 100 at Reading/Tyson Road (Echo Lake Inn)
The Windsor County Sheriff regularly works this revenue spot for the Town of Plymouth. The speed drops from 50 MPH to 35 MPH and there are several hiding spots used bt Deputy Sheriffs to write tickets. The methodology is similar to the Route 100/Route 100A intersection area know as Plymouth Union.

I was stopped 08/29/10. Police just waiting as speed limit goes from 50 to 35 even though area is not congested or mildly populated. I saw one gas station/country store. Speed goes back up to 50 within another 1/2 mile. Police very business like (it seemed that they have done this numerous times) as it only took a few minutes to get ticket then on your way. This has to be absolutely a revenue generating situation. Experience left a very bad taste of Vermont.
Today, July 4, my wife, an extremely careful driver who has never received a speeding ticket in her life, was driving on 100 S at the posted speed limit of 50 mph, when suddenly she passed a 35 mph speed limit posted without previous warning on the same road--with a police car waiting near it. Before she had a chance to make the speed adjustment required, the police car drove out, stopped us at 49 mph and issued a $144 ticket. As she was presenting the ticket, the officer asked my wife if she were in the military. When my wife said she was not, the officer explained how the fine might be paid and went on her way. Do not know what to make of that last question.
