Plymouth, Vermont Speed Traps
Shortly entering on to Route 100 South where the posted speed limit is 50, you will suddenly pass a 35 mile speed limit sign and will find a police officer waiting for you, especially if you have an out-of-town license and are driving on July 4!
Watch for speed sign change from 50mph to 35mph for no apparent reason. The Windsor Sheriff has a trap set for the unsuspecting motorist. It will cost you hundreds of dollars to help fill the coffers of local government. It is law enforcement used as a tax raising tool. Be on your guard.
anyone going over 5 mph of speed limit gets ticketed Ct will not reduce ticket unless you get a lawyer who charges close to $1,000 and the charges get reduced NOT dropped so you end up paying the same fine anyways
Classic speed trap. Route 100 is primarily 50 mph. For a short strech speed limt drops to 35 mph then returns to 50 mph. Guess who waits on other side of 35 mph sign? Windsor county sheriff waiting to generate revenue that’s who. I attended a wedding in Killington, VT along with 2 other couples driving in separate cars. On the way home 2 out 3 couples (including me) got speeding tickets in the same spot from the same officer. Both of us going 50 mph or less. Excellent police work. This can’t be good for VT business. I won’t be back.
Radar in town offices lot; Plymouth General Store lot; Echo Lake Inn lot. Speed is reduced from 50 mph to 35.
