The Beaverton Police have a van that they go around with to catch people speeding. They frequently put their van on Western Avenue just before the intersection with Allen Boulevard. They are supposed to put out signs that say ‘entering a photo radar zone’ or something to that effect, but the signs are small and this particular area has a lot of overgrowth on the side of the road which makes it so you cannot actually see the sign. They also park the van in the middle of a bunch of trees and bushes, so you cannot see it either until you are right on top of it. I have not personally gotten a ticket because I am aware that they are there and drive extra-careful, but I have spoken with many people who have gotten tickets in this area. I believe the posted speed limit is 25 miles per hour, but a more reasonable limit would be about 35.
