Beaverton, Oregon Speed Traps
Wide, straight road that is only 25 MPH. They park the motorcycle at the top of the hill near 180th.
No warning sign. 930pm 4/18/15
This is clearly a fee generating ticket trap. There is a posted sign w/flashing yellow light that left turns are not permitted between 3PM-7PM Monday-Friday. I was caught by this trap because I had never heard of such a rule and thought the flashing yellow light was road work. The officers sit easily hid in the Albertson’s parking lot just waiting to catch violators. No warning was given, but the officer explained that I was eligible for traffic school and could have the violation removed from my record. What he did not explain was the $40 registration fee for traffic school and the $200 court fee if I passed the test. This is not a speed trap, but definitely a fee generating trap.
Cops just past canyon road exit, hiding on Camelot Court overpass with radar
Behind the Shell gas station, on the south west corner of the intersection. There are tall bushes that are perfect for hiding police vehicles with radar.
The speed limit is 30 MPH. which feels like a snails pace on that road. I drive this section of road twice a day and I see a radar trap there about 1/3 of the time. You will not see the trap until you have already driven past or when you stop for the light at the intersection.
