The beginning of Paper Mill Road out of Newark.

Newark, DelawareJun 19, 20102 Comments

Heading out of Newark on N. Chapel or turning from E. Cleveland Ave. The Newark Police will sit across the White Clay Creek beyond the bridge at the bottom of the hill obscured by trees. The hill makes it easy to exceed the 25 mph speed limit and although the road widens, it stays 25 for another 1/4 mile or so until it increases to 35. They’ll getcha coming the other way as well if you don’t slow down.

Comments:
Plus they will use unmarked cars on both sides of the road and they will also put a camera on a tri-pod and place the tri-pod on the sidewalk to further hide their presence..I live on Paper Mill Road and notice that they set up about 3-4 times a week even in the rain..Help other drivers by flashing your headlights to oncoming cars.... The Newark police do not set up any other speed traps on Paper Mill road, Just this one small section where they know its easy pickins..Except for a few houses which are about 100' in from the road, there are no other residences in the area, its all woods and open land...

Turning off Cleveland onto Paper Mill, there is a 25 mph sign. If you are doing 25 mph at that point and just coast from there, you will be doing 34 when you hit the bridge and you see the speed trap tripod (car hidden further back in a recess).
