US 23

South Bloomfield, OhioJul 10, 20022 Comments

Referencing your info on S. Bloomfield. The village has recovered from it’s financial difficulties, now having 1 full time, 2 part time and an entire slew of auxillary officers all of which are completely and totally well versed in the operation of and technical know how involving the K-55 radar.
In addition, the Ohio Department of transportation has moved the speed limit signs in accordance to the land that the village has annexed over the past two years. The "Reduce Speed" signs are well posted before the village, and the Speed limit 35 starts and ends at the actual business/residential areas of the village. Drivers are informed well in advance of the speed limit changes and it is thier own decision not to obey them. By the way the judge at the Municipal Court in Circleville more often than not sides with the village officers, knowing that they are all technically proficient.

Wow. I do believe one of those "well versed" such'n such's wrote this. Pickaway County, in general, is a speed trap. Just south of South Bloomfield (where the local cops lurch US23 like vultures), and just before the Cook's Creek golf course, sits an Ohio State Highway Patrol office. Always watch your speed in Pickaway County and always have your radar detector in full force. I have received a bogus speeding ticket in Pickaway County...basically, I was the only one behind a line of cars riding "around" the speed limit that was getting over and being nice for the OSHP, so he decided to ticket me. When I sent in my fee, I let them know about it. I told them I will never patronize another gas station, convenient store (any store for that matter), no restaurants, spend no money what so ever in that county ever again. That was over 6 years ago and I've kept my word, always spending in the next county. I travel through there all the time because my father lives one county over, and they will never see any tax money from me ever again. This is the best way to get back at speed trap towns and counties. Let them know how you feel by hitting them in the wallet.

To the original poster: they don't use the MPH K55 anymore. They are using Stalker radars Ka band, also use the LTI ultra lite laser.
