The town of Waldo is notorious according to AAA and of course the NMA for very exploitive traffic citation writing. A major source of revenue for the town are tickets written by FHP troopers stationed in the area plus the small police force the town employs. Be very cautious in this area in the vicinity of Gainesville. They have dozen of FHP cruisers in this town every week along US301, plus outlying areas have more FHP cruisers and local police. Drive at the speed limit or close to it, if you exceed you are VERY LIKELY to be stopped and ticketed.
