Same as posted on 2008 by someone: Typical small town set-up. The officer is positioned around a curve 25 yards beyond where the speed limit drops from 55 to 45. There is no way to slow down in time without jamming on your brakes. New Mexico residents are not stopped. When I looked this up, I couldn't believe the exact same thing had happened to me. We were touring the southwest on vacation. Here, I would have had to stand on my brakes - and I would have but after passing all these up and down speed signs, I was wondering what was going on. The speed went up and down 5 times with no apparent reason. No intersections, no work, no nothing - but a speed trap. Now I know the definition of 'speed trap'. If I were the Attorney General in New Mexico, I'd be embarrassed.

Looks like nothing has changed over the years. Last month I too was traveling thru this area and after just passing a cement truck, knowing I was entering a town I was slowing down as fast as I could. On the left across the street 50 tp 100 yds ahead in the opposit direction an officer makes a U-turn and tickets me for going 7MPH over the limit. WOW
