Anytime you enter Macon County on 441, you better stay the speed limit, they highly patrol this stretch of highway because of tourist.

441 is a very dangerous rd. ,I live on 441 s and travel it every day and I'M delighted to see the NCHP OR our locals on the rd. if you aren't speeding you have no problem !!!
The other comment is correct. This is a dangerous AND confusing road. It appears to be a speed trap but the LEO's are just trying to hold down the accident rate. Pay attention especially if you're just passing through. Listen to your GPS. The entire roadway system is ill-designed. The locals, naturally, know their way around. The rest of us don't and it results in problems. Keep your head on a swivel & pay attention.
