US Highway 6

As you pass through Calvert going North towards Waco from College Station, a cop will sit just behind the 70 posted speed limit sign and if you are going 70 as you hit the sign, they will pull you over for 15 miles above the 55 speed limit. As we all know the 70 posted speed limit isn’t until AFTER you past the sign, not when you see it.

Comments:
I checked this one out since I live locally. Headed north on SH6, the speed limit goes to 50, then to 55mph as you approach the split. There is then an oversized sign that reads 55mph about half way to the 70/65 sign. If you were headed north as you claim to have been, and the cop was sitting where you claim he was, there was no possible way you were not going 70mph in a 55mph zone. No police agency I know of has side looking radar, which would mean you had to have been going 70mph prior to hitting the sign. I also noticed at this sign the roadway makes a sharp curve to the right. Sitting at this particular point, due to the angular distortion involved, would render a front radar useless. Only one you could be caught with is the rear radar, which would be behind the 70 sign in the 55 zone. And yes, Im a retired officer from up north so youll instantly dismiss my thoughts on your ticket, but I gotta call BS when I see it.
