US Highway 89 near 4-Lane Highway

Hides in the trees in the median on a downhill stretch of US-89 North about 5-7 miles north of Flagstaff in the 4-lane stretch of road. Almost always there.

Comments:
This is deffinately a speed trap. I'm a resident who lives off of hwy. 89, 8 miles north of the Flagstaff city limits. The speed limit changes 4 times between my home and the Flagstaff city limits. The DPS/Highway Patrol take advantage of this situation to whosale speeding tickets. When I have question an officer about tihs pratice, he stated it was opportunistic enforcment and showed no intrest in a more positive enforcement approach. I have written my state repensative and would encourage others to do likewise. We need and deserve positive law enforcement. The state DPS works for the tax payer not vise versa, and they need to be constantly reminded of this.

Personally I have no respect for DPS but they have the badge and they do what they want with you. I was handcuffed and taunted for going 10 over and also having my vehicle searched. I admit I was wrong but whatever happened to getting your ticket and being on your way?
