This is a stretch north of Military Pass Road extending to the rest area between the city of Weed and Dorris California. The speed limits are unrealistic given the relatively light traffic. Going north the CHP pick you up around the DOT maintenance station on a flat open stretch in which there is clear road visibility for miles coupled with a subtle downgrade which makes 80 more appropriate than the 65 posted. Going south the CHP usually remain hidden on Military Pass Rd at the bottom of a substantial downgrade. Many times they depend on aircraft surveillance which is essentially a speedtrap.
