Vietnam Veterans Parkway near Harris Lane

Gallatin, TennesseeMar 16, 20082 Comments

The new part of St Rt 386 out of Gallatin toward Hendersonville near Harris Lane. Police or Troopers will sit at the far end of an bridge abutment behind the mound of dirt where they can’t be seen till you’re right up on them. Posted limit is 70, but traffic moves faster since it’s very rural. 4 Lane highway, less than a year old. Be smart, use your detector!

Comments:
A lot of times I've seen Gallatin police, Sumner County police, and the Tn Hwy patrol all at one time in this area. Also speed limit rapidly cuts down from 70 to 55, then 45, then 35 mph in less than 1/2 mile distance going into Gallatin.

Monitoring a justified and properly signed speed zone is not a speed trap. A trap is by definition unwarranted and targeting motorists. The multiple drops at this location are so that you do not ask a driver to drop 20 mph or more at one sign. But by all means, do watch for cops so you don't get a ticket.
