warrenville Road near State Route 53

Lisle, IllinoisOct 24, 20070 Comments

the officer sits at the bottom of the hill right next to the dupage river branch as you approach rt53 going east.it goes from 45 to 35 because there is construction going on at the i88 underpass and due to "scott’s law" (state law) the minimum fine is 375.00 plus court costs(total 430.00)i paid my lawyer 150.00 but she couldn’t get me out of it(due to it being a state law).the other option-going to a jury trial was not a good one because if i lost, the potential for court costs plus lawyer’s fees plus fine could be in the thousands.i live just up the road but this officer didn’t care and would not consider a warning.funny thing is i’ve lived in lisle for 9 years, drive by the site every day of the year and know well that they sit there,i also have a 500.00 valentine one radar detector which is the best in the industry.but with instant on laser and little traffic around(it was 10:00 am on a workday)you’re screwed if you don’t heed the sign. hope this helps at least 1 person from falling into this very expensive trap.
