Lisle, Illinois Speed Traps
Whenever I’m going to school at COD there is always a copper right in the night exit of the Arboretum. Ive even seen cops hiding beside parked cars trying to catch people heading in from butterfield. Its 25 there so watch it folks.
sits off road on west side
As you head east from Yackley on Burlington, you head down a steep hill. The speed limit is 25 mph and you have to put on your brakes even if you are coasting to maintain 25 mph. This road is also a favorite of commuters heading to the Lisle Metra station, rushing to catch their train. The police park away from the corners on the north-south side streets towards the bottom of the hill. I have only seen them do this in the morning, and I was caught as late as 10 am
in the parking lot of Harley-Davidson or the gardening shop a little farther east
I have noticed lately that the Lisle police sit either at Ivanhoe (the Speedway gas station is on the corner) or on Arbor View. I believe that upon seeing a car accelerate from the I-355 exit onto Odgen, the officer will slip out into traffic & get up close to the "offender" to see if they will continue to accelerate thru the intersection at Kingston (the Post Office is on the South Side) where the speed limit drops to 35.
