Classic speed trap – speed limit changes from 40 to 35 to 25 very quickly. the cop is hidden and gets you as you come around the curve.

As you travel towards Newark south on 896 (New London Road) there is a classic, frequently used speed trap just north of the Fairfield Shopping Center. It is around a curve so it is out of sight; it is on a downhill stretch of road, and the speed limit drops precipitously from 45 to 40 to 35 before you arrive at the shopping center. At the time I was caught (2nd ticket in 57 years driving) the cops had about 10 to 12 cars lined up receiving tickets. It is a typical small town fund raising scam!
