Clinton, Tennessee Speed Traps
Near Exit 122 Southbound on I-75
Going southbound, about half mile from the exit, occasionally Anderson county and Clinton city police, but mostly Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers hide in the median behind the southern side of a bridge. You cannot see them until you are about half way across the bridge, too late to slow down. This is in about the middle of a straightaway about one and half miles long downhill, so it is very easy to go considerably above the 70 mph speed limit without even meaning to.
N Charles G Seivers Blvd & Anderson Hwy
When you get past the Ford dealer on Seivers Blvd, it’s common to see a marked Ford Crown Victoria sit in the parking lot where the McKamey’s building is. The speed limit is 55, and I can tell you that you had better not cheat. The building’s parking lot is just over a hill, and he hides in that parking lot.
US Highway 25W near Hi-Way Road
This speedtrap is just inside the Clinton city limits on Clinch Avenue (U.S. Hwy 25W southeast of the intersection with Charles G. Seivers Blvd.) There is either a Clinton cop, an Anderson County cop, or a state trooper in this area at all times. Also, the district station for the Tennessee Highway Patrol is in this area. It is an area to especially beware.
State Highway 61 near Suzanne Street
Hides behind the guardrail and out of sight. Main purpose is probable cause stops for DUI etc
Black Oak Road near Black Oak Road
Anderson County Sheriff Dept hiding in unforeseeble spots that is very uncalled for and this Sheriff will find out in next term under his commands that his deputies writing a ticket of 50 mph in a 45 zone will definitely get him removed from office with charging consumers $203.00 for a speeding ticket but maybe he thinks not but we will set back and spread the word of what kind Sheriffs dept he is now running.
