Donelson, Tennessee Speed Traps
They set up in Shell’s parking lot or in the Park N’ Fly parking area. Speed limit is 30! Unrealistic for such an open area, but it is 30!
It is not unusual for a motorcycle officer to run radar in this area. The officer hides his vehicle behind a large cluster of bushes on Bluefield near the second intersection of Cumberland Circle. This is done in order to catch motorists who are using this as a cut-through from Lebanon Pike to Donelson Pike.
Radar is near Opry Mills Mall. Going Southbound, it is usually at the Opry Mills exit ramp/Gaylord Corporate Office Building and often they sit on the ramp from McGavock onto Briley. Northbound, they sit under the McGavock Pike bridge.
Squad cars hidden off side street, officer was using cordless radar system and signaling drivers onto the sidestreet where oncoming traffic could not see the trap.
From Elm Hill to Smith Springs Rd they like to sneak up on you from behind. I work second shift and i often see them zooming up behind me trying to catch me speeding. I also see them hiding at a cross road waiting for the usual rush of people getting out of work.
