New Market, Tennessee Speed Traps

This is a very effective speed trap. One red light. Very few businesses. speed limit of 45.

There is no city property so there is a serious speed trap

Any where inside the city limits of New Market you will get a ticket if you go over 45. The speed limit for this
road should be 55. There is no real reason for this speed trap but for the city of New Market to make money.

Watch this entire stretch, particularly at night. Coming from Knoxville towards New Market, as soon as you hit the city limits the speed limit drops from 55 to 45, and I have seen the New Market police sitting in the median at night with no lights on, radar gun blasting down either direction. I have also seen many people pulled over here as well, both day and night.

It is hard to keep the speed down to 45 here because it is a 4 lane highway with relatively no traffic and only a single traffic light.
