FM 1442 (Roundbunch) Between Ferry Dr. and 105

Bridge City, TexasApr 23, 20100 Comments

You WILL see a patrol cop here just about every day, and at all times of day. (Most likely they will already have someone stopped.) It makes it especially bad that the speed limit changes about 4 times on this small stretch of road, and it’s very confusing where one limit stops and the other begins. For example, in front of Liberty Baptist Church, the speed limit goes up from (I believe) 55 mph to 65mph. Then just a few yards up, it goes back down to 60 mph.

State Highway 87 near Concrete Mixing Place

Bridge City, TexasMay 14, 20081 Comments

As soon as you cross over the Cow Bayou Bridge going to Orange There is a concrete mixing place right there on the right. And they sit in the first drive way and is almost impossible to see them intill you get right there (maby about 40feet if that) well i got a ticket there doing 65 in a 45. and if anyone wants to disagree that the speed limit is 55 than look in the middle of the bridge there is a speed limit sign that is 45 but shortly turns to 55 then 65.

Ferry Drive near State Highway 87

Bridge City police like to sit in the parking lot of a construction company about midway down Ferry Dr.(between Roundbunch and HWY 87). The speed limit is 35, very reasonable limit because people will pull out in front of you all along that street and there are very steep ditches on either side. I was stopped for speeding (unintentional because I drive that street every morning and always see the police car sitting there, just not paying attention) and a couple of months later my son was ticketed (after I told him to make sure not to speed, especially on Ferry Drive).
