Bridge City, Texas Speed Traps

There are always one or two officers in the parking lot late at night at Bridge City’s only grocery store. They wait behind the smokehouse to trap people speeding down highway 87.

When you pass by Henry rd. driving from either direction on Rachael st. there has been numerous times day and night where an officer is radaring people. He/she is usually hiding in the empty lot at the end of Henry rd where you can’t possible see him/her at night. I’ve been pulled over here once for 2 miles over speed limit (35mph), but I see them catch another at least 2-3 times per week in this area of Bridge City.

Bridge City is well known as a speed trap town. Just another place where traffic violations fund a lot of things for the town. Make sure you don’t say anything back or you risk being arrested on a trumped-up charge. I kid you not (I’m local- been here my whole life)

Traveling westbound across Cow bayou bridga.As you tp bridge and start down they will clock with radar. Traveling Westbound police will post their selves 50 yards beyond bridge facing eastbound traffic to assure leaving Bridge City you do not speed up until you are out of their jurisdiction.
