Carthage, Texas Speed Traps

The City Marshall has black marked Dodge Charger, one of his favorite hiding spots in just as you come into town off the loop going south on US Hwy 59, just past the 35 mile an hour speed limit sign up a slight rise in the road, immediately just over this rise and to the right side of the road between a telephone pole and an old building with trees, it’s a good hiding spot for him, he’ll immediately be able to clock you as soon as you top the hill, Beware!

Watch all over this area on Rte 59. I have been stopped 10 out of 12 times going through this town. From everything from not driving in one lane at 2:30am after passing a truck to not having a seatbelt on after passing a cop at 70 mph. No tickets just looking for excuses.

This is a horrible speed trap. The officers circle like hungry vultures day and night and will stop for anything over the posted speed limit. You will not receive a warning in this town. They often set in business parking lots along the loop.
