Estelline, Texas Speed Traps

very small town. speed limit goes from 70 to 50 for about 1 mile. Two cop cars in this town, a silver Mustang and a dark green Charger. They will trap from anywhere in the 50mph zone. I go thru this town 10 times/year and someone is pulled over 9 of those times. Don’t speed thru Estelline!

Very small town with speed limit of 50 from 70 with no warning to slow down, just a new speed limit sign. Heavy traffic on 287 between Amarillo and Fort Worth/Dallas. Town is no bigger than 3 or 4 blocks long. Cop car is marked but very subtle with thin strip of lights at bottom of front windsheild. Car was a dark gray Chrysler sedan, brand new. I was doing 67 and ticket is $143.

This is a little Texas town with a big Texas sized speed trap with a lime green Ford Mustang on patrol. he wears blue jeans white shirt and ball cap and of course a badge,a gun, and even handcuffs in his belt. City hall is where you can visit and pay your ticket as soon as you get trapped. Yep they say their are not a speed trap but you better shut it down to 50 mph asap before you get in Esterlline. he hide’s under an old service station awning just off the service road on the north side of the highway and is very hard to see. I did not see the 50mph sign and was following 2 semi’s and he picken me out and let them go. Both officers at city hall are very aregent. When I have to go thru Esterlline I travel at 45 and I do not buy anything from their local businesses. Please join me in boycotting this “argent little Texas speed trap””.”

He will get you before you reach the city limits out of his jurisdiction; got my wife behind me in another car- didn’t pull her over but she pulled in behind the police car waiting on me and he gave her a ticket also. She was a quarter mile behind me. Population of 194 (has to support their police department somehow)

This is a very small town, a wide spot in the road. Speed limit drops to 50MPH. Town is so small you will be thought it before you know if not careful.
