speed limit drops from 65 mph to 50 mph…no reduced speed warning signs and speed limit sign is right before a large intersection with blinking caution lights. It is distracting when you are not familiar with that area and concentrating on the traffic and the intersection. No signs saying entering Fort Hood or speed limit warnings. Citations given in Fort Hood are not forgiven at all.

The entire City of Gatesville is monitored by the City of Gatesville Police Department so watch out. This city is well known for writting tickets ranging from 8 miles over the posted speed limit and up. It is department policy to write tickets to help the funding of new equiptment. This policy was enacted by the newly appointed chief of police and his new sergeant and Lt. Gatesville is also known for tacking on a few miles to bump up thier ticket fines. The good officers left the department approximately 1.5 years ago and have been replaced rouge cops whom punish the community with collateral fines
