mercury Drive near chadwick Street
The Jacinto City police like to hang out on both sides of Mercury and write tickets around Chadwick,Munn, andFlaxman streets. Alot of people are unaware that they are in a school zone. Somehow nearly all of Mercury has become a school. I don’t understand how this street is a school zone. Not one school exists on Mercury or its cross streets. The police will work this area from 2-4p.m.

Market Street near Holland Ave. Avenue
The 11900 blk of Market Street (Near Tinseltown) is a very common speed trap. Jacinto City has a very strict quota. The number one priority is traffic enforcement. If an Officer doesn’t write enough tickets he will get called into the Chief’s office. If that doesn’t work, the shift supervisor assigns an Officer somewhere where he or she can write enough tickets. The Officer is not free to patrol the city and protect citizens unless enough tickets are written. My husband worked in JC and has since left to a bigger and better Police Department. Beware when entering JC.
I-10 East between Mercury and Federal (feeder), also Market St.
JC is much like the other small cities Houston has grown up around (speed trap). Though alot of the others are kind of nice, this one is a real dump. Driving through this city sucks, cops have nothing to do and will pull you over for anything, like not having a license plate light. My advice is to just avoid it which is pretty easy. Problem is on the east bound feeder most don’t know they’re in JC. I usually do the defensive driving thing because I know you can’t get away with nearly what you can in Houston.
