Midlothian, Texas Speed Traps

City officers sit on the 14th street overpass of Hwy 287 Bypass hiding behind a large sign attached to the bridge. They can use radar on both directions of the bypass without ever being spotted by traffic until it is too late!

This spot is right on the Midlothian city limit and Ellis county line, but yes Midlothian cops have jurisdiction. The officer is parked in a residences driveway and hidden behind bushes; he is not in his vehicle so you will have to watch for him.

Texas DPS work this area regularly. The speed is 55 MPH but during the day it is a construction zone. The fine is doubled and the Judge will not allow you to take defensive driving or get probation. My ticket was $475 for going 79 in a 55.

Motorcycle cop hides behind the brush, or goes down to the local daycare and hides behind the school bus with his radar. It is too easy to speed there because you go from town directly onto the highway.
