Crossing the Lake Livingston Bridge or in the town of Onalaska

US Highway 190 West near Lake Livingston Bridge Crossing

A motorcycle was in front of us, I told my husband that the cycle was going terribly fast to be crossing the bridge. The Policeman topped the ridge and I believe he picked up the cycle. He went several miles turned around and followed us about another mile into San Jacinto County, then turned on his lights. We had just been to pick out a head stone for our son, we both were crying and I told the officer there was no way we were speeding, You can’t see very well when you are crying over losing a child to do any speeding. I ask to see the Rader, but the other officer would not let me get out of the car to look at it. This is for the City of Onalaska, Texas. First of all it would be very dangerous to speed on this bridge as the wind whips your car so much that you think you are going to be thrown into the railings on this high bridge. I do believe if you are going to give tickets you should not follow a car for 7 to 9 miles before turning on your lights, as the cycle was long gone when he stopped us, doing 56 miles in a 55 mile limit. The officer said it was 67 miles and would not let me see the Radar. The cost is $180.00. I do believe I will move out of the unfair State Of Texas. They have speed traps every where. we didn’t speed and I don’t think it is fair to do people this way. But Texas is a very Greedy State. We are both in our 60’s not the Sports car driver.

Speed limit drops as you enter the city limits and they are on both ends of town around and up a hill no slack above 3 mph above the limit
