Preston Road near Legacy Drive

Plano, TexasMar 27, 20060 Comments

The Cops are not in the standard white police cars, they are on patrol in a dark grey sedan, so they catch you by surprise by just driving nearby. They stop you even if you are driving on 47 on a 40 mile zone.

All Street near All Boulevard

Plano, TexasDec 17, 20050 Comments

The City of Plano is serious about traffic enforcement. They place radar units on the streets to inform you of your speed, then have officers on foot hiding behind a wall with a radar gun and a radio for the chase officers. They also give NO warnings. You can be ticketed for going 5 mph over the posted limits. They are VERY SERIOUS about school zones. No Variance. Expensive to speed in Plano.

State Route Dallas North Tollway near Legacy Drive

Southbound on the Tollway, officers like to back their cars up into this little void between the end of the Legacy on-ramp and the retaining wall. Going southbound, you can’t see them at all until you’re busted. This whole area has lots of blind spots troopers like to hide in.

Jupiter Road near Spring Creek Road

On Jupiter going north from Spring Creek heading into Allen I have seen on numerous times police car/bike sitting in the median facing south getting the northbound trafic. I myself have been caught here–beware!

State Highway 121 near Independence Parkway

Plano, TexasMar 23, 20050 Comments

Not a speed trap. Area is high enforcement area for Red Light Running on SH 121. Patrol vehicle, usually marked, but sometimes unmarked grey impala sits on Independence Py south of SH 121. According to the City of Plano, the yellow light on 121 is 5.4 seconds long. At a speed of 60mph, that gives you 474.984 feet to stop. Fully loaded 18 wheelers can make the stop in that distance. If you receive a ticket there for running the red light, its your own fault.
