Port Isabel, Texas Speed Traps

Drivers going to South Padre Island MUST pass through Port Isabel. The 5 lane highway has an unrealistic 30mph speed limit for the entire length of town (approximately 5 miles). Be careful going through here!

The speed limit was 40 and then dropped to 30. 30 MPH on the only state highway in town!!!!! port isabel is the worst and most corrupt in the state. protestors should post signs when tourists come to visit south padre island for spring break.

Port Isabel is the town one crosses before reaching South Padre Island. Sadly the tax money from the island and tourism is not enough for them. They’ll ticket you for going 31 in a 30 zone. Be afraid. This is clear exploitation for revenue purposes. I would recommend not spending any money in this place as the attitude is so corrupt.
