Sunnyvale, Texas Speed Traps
On Beltline Road between Town East Blvd. and Tripp Rd.
Sheriff Officers will normally sit facing south bound traffic in the meridian leaving Town East Blvd adjacent to Golf Driving Range. Others sit concealed on west side of Beltline Road close to Creekside Drive hidden from direct view by trees. Can’t see until driving at trees.
Clay Road & Long Creek Rd.
Sheriff or Constable Squad Car or Motorcycle sits on Long Creek and monitors intersection. Sits on Clay on center medium or side of road with radar. Speed limit is 35 while safe limit is above that.
Beltline Road near Town East Boulevard
This section lies between Tripp road and Town East Blvd It drops from 45 to 40 MPH the 40 signs are smaller than the 45 signs on either side of this zone and are real easy to miss. I have lived in this area well over twenty years and have never traveled this section and not seen someone getting a ticket. I have never gotten one but that is only becouse I know about it. The Dallas Sheriff runs wild through here.
US Highway 80 near Eastfork Crossing
Dallas county sherrif will sit on the side of the road under the bridge with his lights off. (Not real smart, because he parks sideways so you cannot see the reflection of his tail lights.) He will also park in a concrete ditch just past the entrance ramp so most of his car is hidden. Sunnyvale pays Dallas Co. to patrol the area so that is why tickets are written by Dallas Co. Officers.
